Hang Town Grill to Sponsor Artwork Contest!

Hang Town Grill will sponsor the BookSpring Read-A-Thon Children’s Artwork Contest during the month of October.  Children dining  at Hang Town Grill can draw their version of a “Neighborhood of Readers” and submit it for  the Read-A-Thon Artwork Contest.  The children’s illustrations will be on display at Hang Town Grill also.

Winner of the Children’s Artwork Contest will be featured on the 2010 Read-A-Thon t-shirt and will receive a gift certificate to Jerry’s Artarama to receive new art supplies!!!

What is a “Read-Aloud” Workshop?

On Thursday evening, Leah Davies, Programs Manager and the BookSpring staff visited SafePlace to conduct a Read-A-Loud with mothers residing at SafePlace. During these bilingual trainings, BookSpring staff teach parents how to engage and why it is important to read with their young children. Parents receive free books and leave empowered with the confidence to share  a book with their children.
